Many of these "Newsletters" reflect Bill Varney's time as founder and previous owner of the Fredericksburg Herb Farm
Dear Farm Family & Friends,
Fall is in the air! We are ready for cooler weather and a little more rain. We look forward to a presentation with The Austin Herb Society on Tuesday, September 5th, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Come and join The Austin Herb Society as we celebrate herbs with Austinites!
Do you love your work? When you love what you're doing and are passionate about it, it shows up in your work. You actually gain momentum and energy from your intense enthusiasm for what you love to do. When you immerse yourself, when you lose all track of time, when you are in the flow and would rather be doing what you are doing at that moment than anything else — that is a feeling of exhilaration and great joy. Such are herbs for all of us at Fredericksburg Herb Farm. In Hans Christian Anderson's words, "To be of use to the world is the only way to be happy."
Fall is a great time to plant herbs and a Fall Vegetable Garden, come to the Herb Farm and we'll be happy to help you with your selection of plants.
Dallas Market is coming up September 15th through 17th! We are also looking forward to the Renewable Energy Resource folks here in Fredericksburg the weekend of Sept. 22-24th and celebrating with Leslie Baldwin on her wedding day here on September 30th!
Our herb for September is Nasturtium - learn about its beauty and a great recipe for Nasturtium Hors D' Oeuvres.

In our October newsletter we will begin book reviews. Each month we will review a book having something to do with herbs.
When you come visit us please be sure and visit Bird Mangels, our "Lady Bird" of herbs, who is sure to inspire and help you in any herb question.
Our Friday and Saturday night dinners continue to be a source of quiet farm relaxation, enjoyment and celebration. Also be sure to see and enjoy our new lunch menu. In Learning by Heart, Corita Kent and Jan Steward wrote, "Celebration is a kind of food we all need in our lives, and each individual brings a special recipe or offering, so that together we will make a great feast. Celebration is a human need that we must not, and cannot deny. It is richer and fuller when many work and then celebrate together." Get together with friends or family and celebrate one unique thing about the day.
Blessings,
Bill Varney & All of the Fredericksburg
