Dear Farm Family & Friends,
"It is clear to me that unless we connect directly with the earth, we will not have the faintest clue why we should save it." ~ Helen Caldicott, If You Love this Planet
March is a fun and exciting month at Fredericksburg Herb Farm! We are busy planting, sowing lots of seeds and making cuttings to prepare for full scale Spring in April. This year, we are especially busy with the opening of our expanded Day Spa and Restaurant. The first weekend this month we are also involved in the Austin Home & Garden Show and on March 7th the Austin Herb Society. We hope to see lots of you at those two events in Austin this month. Remember, as Thich Nhat Hanh in Touching Peace said, "All of us, children and adults, are beautiful flowers. Our eyelids are exactly like rose petals, especially when our eyelids are closed. Our ears are like morning glories listening to the sounds of birds. Our lips form a beautiful flower every time we smile. And our two hands are a lotus flower with five petals. The practice is to keep our "flowerness" alive and present, not just for our own benefit but for the happiness of everyone."
In our busy, day to day lives, let's remember to keep our, "flowerness" alive and well this month. Take the time to plant some herbs, vegetables and flowers.
As always, we look forward to seeing you at Fredericksburg Herb Farm in the coming days. Spring will be here soon with the gardens coming into their full beauty — you will always find wonderful food in our expanded restaurant and relaxation at the new and improved day spa.
Blessings to you, your friends and family, Bill Varney & All of the Fredericksburg
Herb Farm Family
"Watch for Saints — It is not so much a question of where to look to find saints, rather it is merely the need to remove the blinders from our eyes, for saints are here in our age just as they have been for every age for the past two millennia." ~ John J. Delaney, Saints are Now
