Many of these "Newsletters" reflect Bill Varney's time as founder and previous owner of the Fredericksburg Herb Farm

Dear Farm Family & Friends,
Each season in the herb garden is so different, and each month seems to be better than the last. By late Fall in Texas, unless there has been some severe clipping, many gardens will have become mini-jungles.
What were once neat clumps will have lengthened into wildly leaning flowering stems, self-sown seeds-such as marigolds and borage – will have bloomed bright orange and blue again and required thinning. And many herbs which could not tolerate the heat of our summer or whose seed heads have now completely ripened, and are ready to be harvested, need to be pruned to have the seeds started in the greenhouse for Spring.
Fall is a time of transition, and as the weather cools it is a good time to consider modifying your garden and starting cool weather plants such as pansies, cilantro, parsley, thyme, sage, fennel, and lettuces, cauliflower, kale, ad a host of other. It is also a time to start thinking about remembering those people who touch our lives with gift giving. Something new that we are offering this year is a gift that keeps on giving.
A year of gifts from Fredericksburg Herb Farm to remind your loved one or client, that you are thinking of them, not just once but every month!
Be sure to check out our Unique Gifts That keep on Giving!
At the end of this month, we be thinking of each and everyone of you as we gives Thanks at Thanksgiving.
