Honor Your Ancestors
We inherit from our ancestors gifts so often taken for granted — our names, the color of our eyes and the texture of our hair, the unfolding of varied abilities and interests in different subjects...
Each of us contains within our fragile vessels of skin and bones and cells this inheritance of soul. We are links between the ages, containing past and present expectations, sacred memories and future promise. Only when we recognize that we are heirs can we truly be pioneers.

Dear Farm Family & Friends,
October
is a great month to contemplate how our ancestors live in us. What talents and interests have you inherited? I know that I inherited my love of gardening from my grandparents on both sides, and love of cooking from my entire family.
In the book, The Gardener's Year, by Karel Capek, he states, "Well then, among all the months October is month of planting and transplanting". It is a great month here in Texas to plant things such as calendulas, cilantro, chamomile, pansies, thymes and many others.
News from our restaurant: Our Pastry Chef, Cindy Castleberry is a Culinary Institute of America Honors Graduate.
The Fredericksburg Herb Farm was recently featured on Central Market's Foodie section of their website. Visit our In The News section to see what they had to say! Our products are now in more Central Market stores and the BIG Whole Foods Store on Lamar in Austin Texas.
We are once again privileged to have Kevin McCormick performing in our restaurant on Friday, October 28th from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Make reservations as this is sure to be an enjoyable evening.
Blessings,
Bill Varney & All the Herb Farm Folks
